<title>Buy a Mac, get an iPod Touch for free </title>
<description>Apple is giving away an iPod Touch to college students purchasing a Mac in back-to-school shopping.
The Cupertino technology company typically has offered freebies each year to entice students to buy a Mac - and it's worked. Mac sales have been way up, according to Apple's latest financial report.
In the past, Apple gave away an iPod Nano, which students can still opt to get with the $299 rebate. But Apple has been shifting its attention this year to the iPod Touch, which it sees as not just an MP3 player, but a mobile computing device - and perhaps a gateway product to the iPhone.

            <title>PlayStation 'magazine' for Qore gamers</title>
<description>Sony Computer Entertainment America is starting a new monthly interactive program called Qore through its Sony PlayStation Store that will offer a package of game previews, trailers, downloadable content, betas, developer interviews and game-related material.

The first "episode" comes out Thursday and is available for the PlayStation 3, through its online store. The way it works is you either buy an individual episode ($2.99) or an annual subscription ($24.99) and get a few hours' worth of HD content that you can watch as you choose. It's like an interactive video magazine.
